  Part 1: Skittles Advert Analysis 1) What  key conventions  of print adverts can you find and what are the  connotations  or deeper meanings of each convention?  For each convention, write about how it communicates meaning to the audience. See the Maltesers advert above for an example of how to do this. The is a picture of the main product that skittles are trying to sell. On the packet it shows a bunch of different coloured skittles as well as a rainbow that represents joy and happiness. The logo is right in the middle of attention. The "skit" in "skittles" could show that the sweets are small and easily eatable without a hassle. They also have a rainbow in the background make up of skittles to show that they have all the colour in the rainbow- aka a large variety of colours and flavours.   This is an unusual way of advertising. However, this proves that their burgers are fresh unlike other companies. It also shows the reality of what other companies sell is just artificial ingredients.

1) What is independent cinema and how is it different to Hollywood blockbusters? Independent films have much smaller budgets, and are often supported financially by public service broadcasters, film institutions and charity funding. They are also distributed by smaller companies. 2) What is I, Daniel Blake about? Daniel Blake, 59, who has worked as a joiner most of his life in the North East of England needs help from the State for the first time ever following an illness.  He crosses paths with a single mother Katie and her two young children, Daisy and Dylan. Katie’s only chance to escape a one roomed homeless hostel in London is to accept a flat some 300 miles away.  Daniel  stands up and fights for his dignity, leading a one-man crusade for compassion that will transform the lives of a struggling single mother (Katie) and her two children. Media Assessment 1: Learner Response

Task 1: Rewrite response to Q3 using the mark scheme. 11 marks, Grade 4 Task 2: Q1-1/1 Q2-1/1 Q3-3/12 Q4-2/2 Q5-2/6 Q6-2/8 Task 3: I think I did better on question 4 as it had more of a straight forward answer that is more easier to get. Task 4: I don't think I did good on question 6 because I didn't use enough media terminology Task 5: The heat advert featuring Beyonce attracts the reader with her glaring look. The way she stares into the audiences eyes shows that she explodes with confidence .

1) List the companies involved in the creation of Black Widow.  Marvel Studios, 4DX, IMAX, Warner Bros 2) What is conglomerate ownership and how does it link to Black Widow? A conglomerate is a large company that owns smaller companies. This links go Black Widow because it was made by Marvel which is a conglomerate. 3) Analyse the film trailer for Black Widow. What aspects of the trailer tell you this is a big-budget blockbuster movie? The lighting and costumes seemed professional. The CGI is also well done as you can't tell it looks fake. 4) How was Black Widow promoted to an audience? List at least three different methods used by the film's marketing campaign and why they were effective in promoting the film. Posters and teaser trailers were sent out swell as movie trailers.
